Stored User Names and Passwords

The Windows "Stored User Names and Passwords" feature allows you to specify an explicit User ID to use when accessing a network resource (instead of whatever user that you are logged on as).  This is particularly helpful for consultants, like myself, that travel between different clients.  I am able to log onto my laptop using a local user account, and yet be able to create a password rule so that a domain account will be used whenever I attempt to access a network resource belonging to one of my customer's domains.

The "Stored User Names and Passwords" interface is accessible from the Control Panel -> User Accounts applet (on XP) or Control Panel -> Stored User Names and Passwords applet (on Windows 2003 Server).  If this applet happens to be missing, as was discovered on the standard desktop image at one of my clients, then you can also access it using the following command line:
